Live workshops take place at The Wild Dyery, Studio 6, 3 Wood St, Hoylake, Wirral, CH47 2DU which is 20 minutes by train from Liverpool in North West England.
- Core Skills in Natural Fabric Dyeing is for anyone interested in preserving the heritage of this ancient craft while considering the ecological benefits. You'll create a full spectrum of colours from the three most reliable plant dyes; indigo, madder and weld. You'll also experiment with shibori style tie-dye patterning techniques.
- Leaf : Print : Cloth combines reliable, heritage dyes with the serendipitous process of nature (or eco) printing foliage directly on to cloth and paper. You'll reconnect with your local flora by foraging for seasonal plants creating samples which can later be stitched in to a zero waste garment.
- Patterned by Plants offers an opportunity to draw from nature 'en plein air' before turning your sketches into unique repeating patterns that you can block print on to cloth with natural dye pastes. You'll also try hand painting with botanical colours, creating one-off surface pattern designs.
