Little Black Book of Natural Fabric Dyeing

This is the information most designers and teachers keep a closely guarded secret but because it's hard finding materials, we want our students to have the insider information that will give you a head start in your textile work. This document is The Wild Dyery's secret suppliers list featuring over 50 international retailers and wholesalers of natural dyes and fabrics. There are active links to their websites and discount codes highlighted underneath their business logos. Being listed doesn't mean we endorse or recommend these suppliers as we haven't used all of them or researched how ethical they all are. Certainly some among these are offering organic and fair trade fabrics so please discern for yourselves. Download by clicking the image (right). * UPDATED * when a supplier offers a discount code so please check you have the latest version.

No Serial Number Magazine is a quarterly publication dedicated to promoting eco-friendly and heritage craft, art and design. The magazine is the result of a family effort to encourage artists, crafters, designers and artisans as well as the general public to use more eco-friendly materials in their crafts and to rediscover, revive and innovate artisanal traditions in their communities.

They do this by telling individual stories of crafters and artists around the world with particular attention to the techniques and materials they use.

The magazine contains various sections such as the Traditional Arts Trades and Craft, Innovative and Traditional Textiles, The Sustainable Fashion, Home Chronicles, Kitchen Chronicles, Travel Chronicles, the Multifunctional Garden and Various Diaries of Projects and Initiatives related to Nature, the Arts, and the Community.

Francesca, a former retail manager, Alessandra, a Ph.D. student, and mom Rosa, a retired teacher who together create the magazine have kindly offered students of this training a free copy to view online.
