New Workshop: Green Wood Spoon Carving

Green Wood Spoon Carving

Saturday 24th September 2016 10am – 4pm £40

Reveal the beautiful wooden spoon hidden within a tree branch in this one day green wood carving workshop with Marcus Drummond. Learn how to select appropriate wood, work with the grain, design according to your materials and select tools safely before carving your own unique, heirloom utensil.

Green wood working is an ancient craft that utilises the softness of newly felled trees for carpentry with hand tools. It empowers people with the skills to make usable, heirloom objects by hand with reverence for both the materials and the environment.

Marcus is an experienced green wood worker and founding member of ‘The Earth Skills Project’ now creating his own hand-crafted products and workshops.

I recently collaborated with Marcus by dyeing some twine for his beautifully hand-crafted children's chairs but will write more about that in a separate post.

There are only 6 places available on this new workshop so early booking is advisable either online or by calling in to the studio
